In an attempt not to study..

I thought I'd blog a little! This morning I participated in my 2nd 5K ("Walk With Me for the Easter Seals of Arkansas).

As incoming Pharmacy students (P1s) you are required to put together a community service project. In the spring, we became active in fundraising for the Easter Seals and we also spent a couple of days during our spring break painting their adult facility. I'm still not sure if throughout the 4 years, you revisit your P1 project or continue to work with the organziation you chose, but this weekend we did! About 12 COP students showed up to participate in the 2K Family Walk or the 5K Run.

Due to the unbearable heat, I haven't been able get out and run in a while. And the little running I did to prepare for the Toad Suck 5K in May never got me real thrilled about running. I still don't like it. But I do have fun participating in races and its heart healthy activity that also exercises my dog! I need to be in better shape anyway. So I'll continue to participate in 5Ks in the future. Hopefully, I'll get more preparation than 2 days! It looks like we'll have a cool down (to the mid 80s...Wow!) for a little while, so we can get out every other day or so.

Congrats to 3 of our team members that placed in their age divisions! Awesome job! Since I don have any pictures from the race to leave you with, I'll leave you with a little video (if I can get it to work) of my sweet girl. I like to give her a hard time sometimes... I'm not sure if she enjoys it so much!
